How does Demo Day Work?

How does Demo Day Work?

There will be 6 startups pitching throughout the event. Each team will have 7 minutes to pitch with 8 minutes of Q&A. A panel of hand selected judges will be providing feedback on your company in the form of a digitized rubric. Additionally, select members of the audience can provide feedback using the rubric as well.

After all pitches are finished, there will be dedicated time for networking and meeting the startup teams. This is an opportunity for students, alumni, investors, and press to have 1-on-1 face time with each member of the team and open a line of dialogue.

How do I get an invitation to Demo Day?

Both startup teams and investors are hand-selected by the Purdue Founders team for participation. General audience ticket availability will open in late March. Student and Alumni tickets are free of charge.

How do I request a media pass?

Email team@purduefounders.com. Purdue Founders will provide a media kit for all startups pitching at Demo Day exclusively to media pass holders. We would love to see as much press attend as possible!

What is the dress code?

Business casual. Any collared shirt (polos included) as well as jeans, khakis, and slacks work. Blouses and sweaters also work as tops alongside skirts and dresses of length. No flip flops or crocs (unless it fits with the brand vibe).

Do we need to be a legal entity to pitch? What about IP?

You do not need have a legal entity in order to participate in Demo Day. Additionally, neither Purdue nor Purdue Founders owns any IP you generate. It is yours to keep and develop. This extends to judges and alumni that come to provide feedback.
